God is certainly at work here in Gainesville, GA. It took us 6 hours to arrive from Columbia, SC. It should take approximately 3! We encountered an intense lightning storm, tremendous downpour, and gridlock traffic. We only got lost for a couple of hours...after ending up at the jail in Lula, GA we decided to turn back. To top it all off we basically ran out of gas at a closed gas station and decided to sleep besides the pumps to be first in line in the morning:) Don't worry, we didn't oversleep, we were not so gently woken by an officer of the law tapping on our windows with his maglite. After he realized we were not drunken lunatics, he let us go with a jolly, "Have a goodun." We left Columbia at 8:30 pm on Friday evening and arrived at Adventures in Missions headquarters at 7:15 am on Saturday morning.

Although the journey to Georgia was interesting, the journey since arriving has been even more exciting. We've had many talks, activities, and seminars and through all of them the Lord is reminding me that HE IS GOD. I think the fears I'm having about leaving home, missing friends and family, saftey, security, the great unknown...are all squelched by His reminder that He is the the unchanging God in Heaven. For me, knowing that HE ALONE is my constant security, my Father who loves me, my Friend, Comforter, and All and All, really made some of the events of the past few days bearable.

And when the fear of this World Race seems too much, He gently wispers to me

"I am the everlasting God and your Father who loves you."

Praise the Lord!

Psalm 106:47-48 says,

"Save us, O Lord our God, and gather us from among the nations, that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise. Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! And let all the people say, 'Amen!' Praise the Lord!"

He is so Faithful!

In Kenya, we sing a song called "You are so Faithful"...it consists of repeating this line over and over. This song's been on my mind lately...I've been learning about God's faithfulness. Over the fall, I've simply been praying that I would walk with the Lord. He has faithfully in His abounding grace and mercy allowed me to walk with Him. I am so thankful for this journey that I'm preparing to take with Him. He has been and always will be our Faithful Father in Heaven.

He is Jehovah-Shammah...the Lord who IS THERE!

"Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations. The Lord is faithful in all His words and kind in all His works." Psalm 145:13
